We are actively seeking a Commercial Manager to join the team to manage the commercial aspects of a large long-term project in the Bristol region. The successful candidate will be based in our Head Office in Banbridge with regular travel to the project site in Bristol. Key Responsibilities Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, Trainees, and Support roles. Oversee budget reviews and cost value reconciliation reports for turnover streams, compiling summary reports for review by the Head of Commercial. Compile and input accurate cash flow plans and updates for turnover streams. Compile revenue reports. Attend and provide support to Quantity Surveyors at client meetings. Ensure Kanes account objectives are met while maintaining excellent client relations. Drive and influence good Quantity Surveying practices among all Quantity Surveyors. Manage the contractual and legal risks associated with each project. Be aware of and implement strategies to address commercial risks inherent in contracts and arising during project execution. Provide full management and line manager duties for subordinates, ensuring compliance with company processes, including annual leave, appraisals/pay reviews, team recruitment, grievance/disciplinary matters, and absence management. Take responsibility for subcontract packages, ensuring they are engaged under the correct terms and conditions to mitigate risks and prevent scope gaps between packages. Ensure company processes are followed in all relevant aspects. Follow, champion, review, and update all team processes. Ensure these processes are correctly followed, keeping the team informed of any changes, including start-up, close-out, and interdepartmental handover procedures. Attend and provide input into financial meetings. Experience & Knowledge Essential BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. Proven experience using JCT Design & Build and NEC contract forms. Track record of working on projects with Tier 1 Main Contractors. Desirable M&E or specialist contractor experience (preferred but not essential). Abilities and Skills Essential Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Proven problem-solving abilities, including managing conflicting work demands. Proactive mindset with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members. Commitment to continuous improvement and best practices in processes. Hands-on approach with a positive, can-do attitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
