Are you a Paediatric Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist looking to work in sunny Hawkes Bay? An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Visiting Neurodevelopmental team at the Te kunenga mai rongokako / Child development service at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui, Hawkes Bay.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Child Development Service is a supportive, multi-disciplinary team who provide paediatric services throughout Hawke's Bay for tamariki living with disability aged from birth to sixteen years. This position offers you the chance to make a real difference to tamariki and their whānau while working with them in their community. The successful applicant will join the Visiting Neurodevelopmental therapy (VNT) team who specialise in working with Tamariki from birth up to 3 years of age. You will be working in the community where the Tamariki live and will approach your day using tikanga and relationship-centred practice.
About You
Ideally, you will have experience assessing and treating Tamariki living with neurological disabilities along with knowledge of the support systems that need to surround them and their whānau. A commitment to supporting positive child development and an excellent understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi are essential.
The Essential Requirements for This Position Are:
* NZ Registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with current annual practicing certificate (APC).
* Experience working with children, young people, and their whānau.
* Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Thorough knowledge of the health and social issues that vulnerable tamariki and their whānau experience.
* Full driving license.
* NZ resident or citizen or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ.
