Wolverton Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25 hours per week with the times on rotation required below:
Main duties of the job
* Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
* Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
* Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
* Sending out review letters.
* Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
* Prescribing Incentive Scheme issuing reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued ensuring budget reductions where possible.
* Medicine management, liaising and discussing any enquiries or queries raised by the clinical team.
* Flexibility to cover other areas when required, multi-skill mix.
* Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.
