About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified or experienced Registered Building Inspectors to join the Council’s Building Control Team. You will join an efficient and proactive team of professionals to ensure the continuation of a first-class Building Control Service.
Surrey Heath Borough comprises a mix of residential, high-end residential, and commercial developments within 36.5 sq miles.
About You
We are looking for Registered Building Inspectors to manage an area within the Borough and assist the team as a whole to maintain its current outstandingly high level of service. Duties will include ensuring decisions on applications are made within the statutory period, undertaking site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations, inspecting Dangerous Structures, and providing out-of-hours and office cover.
We seek applicants with a good level of literacy and numeracy, along with excellent IT skills. You will need to be committed to delivering a first-class customer-focused service in a competitive environment and marketing the department and Local Authority Building Control (LABC). The ability to make clear, concise, and accurate decisions on the spot and under pressure is essential. You will ideally be a member of the CABE, RICS, or CIOB. A current full UK driving licence and daily access to a car for business purposes are required, for which expenses will be paid.
