Do you want to help people to gain more control over their lives?
Do you enjoy working with a range of professionals and resources in developing peoples’ skills and confidence?
If so, then becoming a Enabling Liaison Officer may be the post for you….
Please note that this post does not qualify or meet the criteria as per Home Office Regulations to be eligible for a certificate of sponsorship visa category.
Rotherham Enabling service works with people in the community to help them learn new skills or increase confidence in their daily activities. The people we see may have experienced a spell of ill health or change in their circumstances so need some short-term support to allow them to return to previous levels of independence.
The service differs from ‘traditional’ home care support in that the emphasis is on helping people to ‘do’ for themselves rather than having things done for them.
Enabling Liaison Officers will visit people in their own home and monitor how this direct support is delivered to them.
Part of the role of the ‘Enablement Liaison Officer’ is to undertake set ups of service, completing risk assessments and care plans, reviewing of peoples care and support needs, monitoring goals and achievements and reducing/increasing calls and ending service in conjunction with the people we are supporting.
The ‘Enablement Liaison Officer’ will liaise with Coordinators on a regular basis to ensure our customers receive a streamlined service and smooth transition back to an increased level of independence wherever possible. The officer will be responsible for attending MDT’s and supporting with referrals to health professionals.
The ‘Enablement Liaison’ will be also responsible for supporting and monitoring the Enabling support workers performance and undertaking observed practice in the community on a regular basis.
The aim of our service is to promote the person’s overall wellbeing, providing every opportunity for people to lead happy, healthy, and independent lives.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission with an overall ‘good’ rating, but we are working towards achieving an ‘outstanding’ rating. The enthusiasm and commitment of our staff – hopefully including you! - should help us to achieve this in future.
You will be provided with essential IT equipment and you will work across the whole of the Rotherham borough.
These roles require the postholders to work borough wide and use of a car.
The service operates from 6.45 am until 10pm every day of the year so this role includes working shifts with a consistent rota.
The successful applicants will be joining a supportive and motivated team who value learning and work in close partnership with other professionals in the area.
A full induction and training is provided as well as regular supervision and team meetings.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity before applying, then please don’t hesitate in contacting Registered Manager Sandra Hatfield on 07786 335914 or by emailing Sandra.hatfield@rotherham.gov.uk
OR
Karen Duke ( Deputy Manager ) on 01709 255754 / 07748142992 or by emailing Karen.Duke@rotherham.gov.uk
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
