Reports to: Senior Project Manager
DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities:
The Employee will work as instructed by the Project Director or Senior Manager of the Company, as may be nominated by the Company from time to time. The Employee will be responsible as follows:
* Overseeing all electrical works and specifications on behalf of the Company.
* Assisting with the costing of power installation activities.
* The delivery of power services when requested.
* The installation of all types of telecommunication equipment at customer locations, primarily in Data Centres and switch sites.
This will include:
* Installation of equipment cabinets/racks including server racks and vendor-specific equipment racks in both raised floor and non-raised floor environments.
* Installation of equipment within the racks.
Installation of all the associated cabling including:
* AC and DC power cabling
* Cat 6/Cat 5 network patching
* Fibre patching (Equipment to Equipment or within ODF)
* Labelling of all the above in accordance with customer-specific standards
* Fault finding (use of power meters, etc.)
The Employee will be expected to work to a considerable extent on their own initiative.
Qualifications/Training:
Must be able to demonstrate one of or a combination of the following:
* Level 3 (NVQ) Diploma in Electro-technical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
* Level 3 (NVQ) Diploma in Installing Electro-technical Systems & Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
* Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) if part of an apprenticeship
* Be in possession of a current first aid qualification.
* Must possess and be able to demonstrate City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection & Testing- 2391-10 qualification or latest equivalent.
* Clean UK driving license essential.

Experience:
Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of active working experience within the data centre/telecommunications environment.
