Are you a Secondary SEN teaching assistant with exceptional rapport building and behaviour management skills ? We are working with a highly respected specialist SEMH setting in the Middlesbrough area and require an SEN specialist who can bring a host of skills to this school which caters secondary aged pupils with substantial additional needs around mental health, behaviour and social anxiety.. The setting is a friendly place to work – accommodating a wide range of learners and a team of professionals who are firmly focused on the learners within their care, exceeding expectation. In this role you will work across class and 1:1 in years 7,8 and 9 as part of a teaching team. You will be responsible for helping to create positive learning environments and will be a role model for good behaviour and kindness. The ability to build rapport quickly with often reluctant and volatile young people is essential. The role is usual school hourspm Monday to Friday Term- Time only. The setting is easy to reach by car or by public transport. As stated earlier, the setting caters for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and associated needs such as autism, ADHD and attachment disorders. All of the pupils experience challenging behaviour so this is suited to an experienced TA with previous experience in a similar setting, or someone with a real desire to assist in this area of education who has the necessary transferable skills.
