Coventry (Hybrid) 6-month contract Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week) £350 - 425 per day (Inside IR35)
What you'll do:
As an Interim Financial Controller, your role will be pivotal in achieving key performance metrics, implementing and maintaining internal controls, and reporting key performance information. You will be responsible for managing objectives and targets for six direct reports while also ensuring their development to achieve their personal and professional goals. Your strong attention to detail will be crucial in managing all aspects of corporate and internal reporting, ensuring adherence to timetables, financial integrity, and completeness. Your ability to work under pressure will be tested as you manage multiple conflicting deadlines.
* Act as an integral part of the Finance and Management team providing support and control to the Technical Centre.
* Manage all aspects of corporate and internal reporting to ensure adherence to timetables, financial integrity and completeness.
* Oversee month-end processes including variance analysis.
* Prepare and present budgets and forecasts (profit and loss, cashflow and balance sheet).
* Lead the Finance team, managing key KPIs including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging.
* Pursue Continuous Improvements to financial controls and other operational processes within the business.
* Conduct SOX Testing Reviews and present findings to the Divisional Financial Controller.
* Work closely with external auditors for year end and interim audit work, internal audit FOAs and Balance Sheet reviews.
* Review, maintain and implement internal controls including quarterly SOX testing.
* Develop direct report heads to achieve personal and professional goals, supporting the longer-term succession plan.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Interim Financial Controller position is a qualified accountant with a finance or business degree. You bring along excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel, coupled with strong communication abilities. Your high attention to detail sets you apart from others. Preferred technical skills include experience with BPCS, good working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) and AS400Query, automotive experience, continuous improvement pedigree, and internal audit/control review experience.
