The Role
:
As a Technical Underwriter, you will take responsibility for technical underwriting and work closely with the Senior Technical Underwriter and the wider underwriting community and assist with drafting policy wordings and contractual documentation.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Drive improvements in quality and current practices.
2. Ensure all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements are met
3. Deliver a market-leading internal technical underwriting service by evaluating and analysing applications to determine risk levels and the appropriate cover limits.
4. Utilise data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in underwriting processes and pricing.
5. Collaborate with the claims department to review and analyse claims data, identifying potential areas of underwriting improvement.
6. Participate in internal and external audits to ensure underwriting practices comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Contribute towards loss ratio control by effectively adhering to the company’s plans.
8. Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Head of Technical Underwriting.
