Sports Turf Grounds Person Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time Salary: Up to £27,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled grounds person, with experience in sports turf maintenance? Uppingham School is seeking a dedicated Sports Turf Grounds Person to join our Estates team, and play a key role maintaining 56 acres of high-quality playing fields and sports facilities. As a Sports Turf Grounds Person, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our sports surfaces, including natural and artificial pitches, are maintained to the highest standards. Your work will directly contribute to the performance, safety, and aesthetics of our grounds, supporting a full and varied games and sporting curriculum. In this varied role, you will undertake a range of maintenance responsibilities, including: • Mowing, fertilising, aerating, irrigating, and repairing turf surfaces • Maintaining artificial pitches/courts • Managing equipment, and completing scheduled maintenance activities You will need previous experience of sports grounds maintenance and associated work, including experience of marking pitches, mowing, aerating, fertilising and weed control. You will be capable of using a range of machinery and equipment and will also possess a full driving licence. Qualifications including PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates and an NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf qualification or similar is desirable, but not essential.
