Role Description SWIFT’s Homelift Technician Team Leader is a full-time position based in Northampton. You will lead a team dedicated to delivering high-quality homelift installations that exceed customer expectations. This role involves both technical and leadership responsibilities, ensuring installations are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard. The role will also include opportunities to travel abroad. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an apprenticeship is a plus but not required. Previous lift installation experience is also advantageous but not mandatory. Today, you might be working as an electrical installer, air conditioning technician, car mechanic, or solar panel installer. This role would involve travelling all across England to install lifts, with a significant portion of the installations being in and around London. Key Responsibilities Customer Satisfaction : Deliver homelift installations that exceed customer expectations. Stakeholder Communication : Communicate technical information, resolve issues promptly, and keep all key stakeholders updated on project milestones. Ensure Quality Standards : Maintain high-quality workmanship and attention to detail on every installation. Safety First : Uphold and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and company policies. Who We’re Looking For Experienced Professional : Lift/elevator experience is a plus but not mandatory. Technical Knowledge : Experience in electrical low voltage installations, understanding of logical control systems, and an interest in learning how to set parameters and troubleshoot. Basic computer skills and knowledge of software upgrades. Skilled Leader : Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while remaining actively involved in technical tasks. Excellent Communicator : Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Positive Attitude : Resilient and enthusiastic, thriving in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Adaptable and Quick Learner : Able to handle various tasks and adapt to changing project requirements with ease. Technical and Practical Skills Methodically build and install lifts at customer premises. Skilled in reading installation drawings and manuals. Deliver a high level of workmanship to complete installations in perfect condition. Find high-quality solutions for site-specific issues. Respond to mechanical failures and system malfunctions. Install and test electrical systems. Carry out safety checks. Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects. Ability to travel and work after hours when required. Work independently while leading a team. What You Will Need To Succeed An NVQ level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent. A valid UK driving licence.
