Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to become a core member of our maternity team, as a band 3 Maternity support worker. Within this role you will support the acute maternity services to include the Antenatal Clinic area. If you are passionate about supporting registered practitioners to deliver high quality, compassionate care to people during pregnancy and post-natal period, then we want to hear from you. You will be working in partnership with women, birthing people and their families, to provide advice and support. We will help you develop a working knowledge of support services available to families. For further information please contact Diane Butler Midwifery Sister. diane.butler1nhs.net Main duties of the job Your day to day role will vary but will include; - Gaining consent before providing care. - Looking after and removal of catheters - Venepuncture and taking cannulas out - observations - oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure monitoring, body temperature, pulse rate To understand these observations, documenting these both electronically and in the maternity health record, and acting on the information. - Supporting families in their choices for screening and immunisations Provide support and assist families in their choices for feeding their infants. - Participate in antenatal classes.
