This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving and award-winning business working in the Lettings and Sales department at their office in Newport, Isle of Wight.
At Red Squirrel Property Shop we handle property sales, lettings, and maintenance. We take pride in what we do and want it to be done to the best standard possible.
We are a family-run business with over 180 years’ combined experience both locally and on the mainland. We are a devoted team who dedicate our time to supply the best service possible; therefore, we believe that a friendly and supportive approach and attitude is extremely important to all our customers.
Owing to previous apprentice success, Red Squirrel are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic apprentice to join their friendly team.
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
1. Dealing with general customer enquiries.
2. Office paperwork.
3. Sales Administration.
4. Sales Progression.
5. Brochures.
6. Canvassing at times.
7. Dealing with applicants.
8. Proactive sales calls.
9. Social Media duties including Marketing.
10. Any other administrative needs as required by the business.
Essential Qualities and Skills:
1. Working as part of a team.
2. Good time keeping and communication skills.
3. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
4. IT Skills.
5. Organisational skills.
6. Attention to detail.
Apprenticeship Standard:
1. Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
2. Functional Skills in Maths and English if required and if not previously achieved GCSE grade 4 or above.
3. There is a requirement to complete 20% off the job training; time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role will also be counted.
4. Attendance at Isle of Wight College as required.
Working Week:
1. 30 hours per week to begin with.
2. Saturday work will be required (3 out of 4 Saturdays to be worked in a month, approximately).
Wage:
1. £6.40 per hour + commission. Hourly rate negotiable dependent on the successful candidate’s skills.
The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. Once qualified and dependent on the needs of the business at the time of apprenticeship completion, there may be the potential for a permanent position.
