We support families by providing a safe and fun environment for children and young people while their parents/carers attend work, training, or further education. Our clubs offer a wide range of play-based activities that keep the children engaged and happy.
Senior Childcare Practitioners:
1. Oversee the day-to-day running of the club.
2. Are responsible for ensuring the planning and supervision of activities with children and young people.
3. Supervise a small team of Childcare Practitioners.
4. Organise play area, provide appropriate resources and equipment.
5. Create a safe, inviting space to allow children and young people to enjoy their leisure time in their own way.
6. Encourage independence, build self-esteem, and support children to try new skills and experiences.
7. Provide healthy and nutritious snacks taking account of dietary and nutritional needs.
8. Support children and young people on a one-to-one basis when required.
9. Deal with injuries and emergencies.
10. Build professional relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
11. Think forward and be flexible in your approach.
12. Support the Childcare Manager with all aspects of the delivery of an effective out of school service.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has experience of working with children and young people within a play, care, or learning setting.
2. Has supervisory experience, preferably within a childcare service.
3. Holds a formal qualification such as an SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People).
4. Is fun, engaging, adaptable, and passionate about working with children and young people.
