We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking team members to join our portering teams at Pinderfields Hospital.As front of house in patient movement porter you will support the safe transfer ofpatients around the hospital in a timely and safe manner. You will also assistwith the collection of specimens and equipment.
We have 1 full time and 1 part time position.
Full time position: hours per week, working 5 days over 7 with various shifts within a 24 hour period.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of theOperational Portering Team to provide patient movement and patient facingservices and to assist in the movement of both clinical and household waste forthe Trust.
Under the direction of the supervisor, the post holder will deliver an efficient, effective and quality front of house portering service thatis supportive towards departments and other buildings. The post holder will be courteous andcaring towards patients and all service users.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. The conveyance or movement ofpatients by wheelchair, trolley or bed.
2. Movement of deceased patientsto the mortuary.
3. Changing of medical gascylinders as required.
4. Escorting of patients and visitors.
5. Collection and disposal ofrefuse, including clinical waste generated by the retained estate.
6. To rotate through all porteringduties and departments as required to meet Service delivery requirements.
7. Respond to requests withinminimum time, enabling the Department to meet its Service Level Agreements withother Trust departments.
8. Respond to crash and fire callsand hold the bleep as requested by Supervisors or team leaders.
9. An experienced post holder may, on occasion be requested to have asupernumerary member of staff working alongside them to assist in theirinduction to the department.
10. The post holder will be expected to have an understanding of theoperation of the department to assist in its smooth running and enable them topriorities workload.
11. To ensure that all equipment is safe and clean at all times forpatient use. This will include the use of sanitizing wipes on wheels chairs andmortuary trolleys between each patient use.
12. May be required to work as a link operator to cover the service attimes of staff shortage.
