This is a 12 month post to cover maternity leave.
This is an exciting role for a specialist pharmacist to develop their expertise in paediatrics and neonatology. This is a rotational post providing clinical services across paediatric medical & surgical wards, paediatric critical care and neonatal units.
We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, flexible, and forward thinking with a sound clinical pharmacy knowledge. It is desirable for applicants to have a special interest in paediatrics, neonates & maternity.
Main duties of the job
This role involves complex clinical medication reviews of paediatric & neonatal inpatients, advising and prescribing with an expert team of medical & nursing staff. The successful candidate will be involved in preparing medication for discharges and providing medication counselling to patients and families. The successful candidate will be provided with all the relevant training and support from expert pharmacy colleagues, in addition to being provided with ample development opportunities to allow personal growth, and career progression.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Pharmacy
* Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent relevant postgraduate clinical qualification (or actively working towards)
* Current Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council and up to date with revalidation
Experience
* Wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting
* Experience of providing directorate level pharmacist services e.g. budgetary reports, drug usage reviews
* Developments of protocols and policies
* Experience of developing strong professional relationships with other healthcare professionals
* Experience of leading and contributing to relevant research, audit and service improvement projects
* Staff leadership and management experience
* Experience in mentorship and training for other staff
Knowledge
* Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical practice
* Involvement in development of evidence-based clinical guidelines, policies and protocols
* Strong knowledge of medicines information resources
