White Label are on the lookout for a Proposals Engineer to play a pivotal role within a leading manufacturer, working closely with clients and cross-functional teams on large-scale tender projects. This position reports to the Technical Manager and involves supporting systems design to meet client requirements in highly specialised environments.
You will drive continuous improvement in both new product development and the adaptation of existing solutions as the company expands its footprint in the industrial and automotive sectors.
Responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer:
1. Enhance the mechanical input to the sales team, bridging design needs with project requirements.
2. Act as a key contributor in the development of the company's industrial and automotive services.
3. Provide estimating expertise to assist the sales department in delivering accurate project proposals.
Primary Duties of the Proposals Engineer:
1. Interpret and communicate mechanical design requirements for project tenders.
2. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that mechanical designs align with manufacturing capabilities and project feasibility.
3. Manage and refine the sales estimating tool for mechanical equipment, integrating updates and improvements.
4. Aid in the implementation of new quoting software, contributing insights and suggestions for effective use.
5. Develop and refine system layouts for tender projects.
6. Offer support to the Technical Mechanical Department for additional design needs as required.
7. Ensure mechanical designs meet company standards and are compatible with control systems and resale equipment requirements.
8. Prepare essential documentation for tender submissions.
9. Engage with suppliers on new products and processes to ensure accurate cost assessment.
10. Create Topological Flow Drawings as needed.
11. Identify necessary BIM standards for sales tenders and ensure adherence to them.
Qualifications and Skills of the Proposals Engineer:
1. HNC or equivalent in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software.
3. Experience with BIM/Revit is highly advantageous.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
