Our client is a local Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineering Consultancy with an excellent reputation for quality work. Their technical expertise and successful project delivery have enabled rapid growth, making them one of the most reputable firms in the industry. They have secured significant projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and MOD sectors. Their services include detailed design, TTD, dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, technical advisory work, and more. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) at various levels. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career within a highly regarded consultancy, receiving technical guidance from experienced senior management.
Role
* Understanding project briefs and designing/specifying Mechanical Building Services systems.
* Preparing and reviewing documentation such as designs, specifications, assessment reports, and survey reports.
* Managing others in producing detailed calculations using industry-standard software including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house tools.
* Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
* Implementing detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to assess existing installations and inform new or upgraded designs.
* Managing entire projects from a technical and client perspective.
* Preparing fee proposals (depending on level).
* Assisting in the development of junior engineers.
* Writing reports and technical notes.
Qualifications / Experience
* Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* Chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET.
* Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a design consultancy or similar environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
* Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients and attending meetings.
* Experience managing projects through various RIBA stages.
* Involvement in commercial aspects such as fee bids, tenders, and financial management.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant technical standards and ability to oversee project deliverables and make independent decisions.
* Proficiency with digital tools such as IES thermal modelling, Microsoft Office, and CAD.
