Farthings Residential Care Home in West Drayton near Retford are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Wellbeing Coordinator. Farthings has farmhouse origins and is a home from home privately owned Care Home with 22 beds.
Farthings is rated 'good' in all areas inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is band 5 Nottinghamshire County Council rated. The home holds a 5* food hygiene rating and has won the Care Home of the Year award at the local C.H.A.S.E awards. In addition, Farthings has been awarded a score of 9.6 on carehome.co.uk, the leading UK care home review website. We are also a member of the National Activities Provider Association (NAPA).

As an Wellbeing Coordinator, you will help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for our residents. You will formulate a timetable of imaginative, fun and motivational activities which suit every interest and ability. It is an extremely rewarding role, time will be spent getting to know our residents and their families before you create tailored wellbeing programmes focused on maximising everyone’s wellbeing, independence and social engagement.
You will run all events, considering our resident’s interests and abilities, group activities may include craft sessions, gardening sessions, music, films, baking, reminiscence, entertainment, painting etc. You will also support residents on a 1:1 basis with the pursuance of their individual hobbies and interests.
You will accompany residents on outings and ensure that care and safety standards are met.
Ideally you will be competent with the use of technology. Activities should be pre-planned on our Care Planning software and documented within residents’ daily notes, upcoming events are to be advertised, a monthly newsletter of events held is to be produced inclusive of photographs and entries of same made on our Facebook page.
Fundraising events are to be organised to supplement the Residents Fund. You will maintain and form relationships within the community, for example local schools and ministers of religious denominations.
You’ll need to be warm, empathetic and personable to join us as an Wellbeing Coordinator. Your organisational skills and driven mind-set mean you always get things done and make things happen. Meanwhile, your infectious enthusiasm and creative approach will inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.
Previous experience would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given. We will supply you with a free uniform and name badge. Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS and sign up to the update service.
We are looking to cover 15 hours per week (5x 3 hour shifts, currently this is 1330-1630, this is negotiable but must suit the needs of our residents). Should you wish for additional hours, there may also be the opportunity in other roles within the home i.e. Care Assistant, Cook or Housekeeper.
