Director of Nursing and Systems Improvement (Ref: 206079) Permanent, full time Executive Level E, £96,982 - 124,871 (indicative) Glasgow or Edinburgh base with hybrid working Healthcare Improvement Scotland is seeking an exceptional leader for the role of Director of Nursing and Systems Improvement. The postholder will be a vital member of the Executive Team, playing a key role in corporate governance, performance management, and the overall success of our organisation. The Director will provide professional leadership for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals practice and ensure sound and up-to-date clinical advice is provided to the Healthcare Improvement Scotland Board, Executive Team and wider organisation. The post-holder will oversee public protection, complaints and, in conjunction with the Medical Director, our framework for clinical and care governance. You will also provide executive leadership for a wide range of national improvement programmes, including early identification of frailty, the expansion of care outside hospital settings such as Hospital at Home and the strengthening of Primary Care. The role also includes executive leadership for maternal healthcare as a key priority area. Additionally, as Director you will oversee a robust approach to monitoring compliance with the Health and Care Staffing Act, ensuring tools remain up-to-date and relevant to clinical practice. You will be educated to degree or Masters degree level, or equivalent, in nursing and/or midwifery or relevant study and have been registered as a nurse/midwife with the NMC for at least ten years. To succeed in the role, you will have demonstrable senior level experience in health or social care with inspiring leadership of change and exceptional communication skills to engage fully with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
