Salary: £51,085 - £52,804 (Grade 15) Full-Time 37 hours per week
The Council is looking to recruit a Principal Solicitor to join its experienced team within Legal Services. You will provide management oversight of a small team and undertake a wide variety of legal work with particular focus on Contracts and Procurement, providing a quality and comprehensive legal service to officers, elected Members, and other partners.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:
* Previous experience within Contracts, including reviewing, drafting, and amending a range of commercial contracts, IT contracts, goods and services, framework agreements, consultancy agreements, funding agreements, and public procurement.
* Experience with commercial property matters such as acquisitions, sales, and commercial leases.
* Management of a small legal team; this is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career.
* A qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate.
The ideal candidate would be:
* Able to support the Head of Legal (Deputy Monitoring Officer) in developing and delivering the corporate vision, values, and priorities of the Council.
* Effective in communication, both written and verbal, with officers internally and externally with courts, barristers, professional bodies, stakeholders, and members of the public.
* Self-motivated with the ability to handle a large and varied caseload.
* Adaptable to changing demands, solution-focused, and able to provide sound legal advice.
* Resilient, enthusiastic, and possess personal diplomacy and self-motivation.
* Someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviors.
