Role: Associate Invigilator

About the role:
We are currently seeking an Associate Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College group .
As an invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Conducting examinations in accordance with Awarding Body regulations
2. Observing and enforcing procedures written by the Examinations Manager in accordance with the conduct of all Bedford College Group Examinations
3. Ensuring the security of the examinations, before during and after the examination.
4. Ensuring confidentiality of examination papers, completed scripts and candidate information is maintained at all times.
5. Collecting examination material from the Examinations Office at least ½ hour prior to the commencement of the examination and maintain security of the examination papers.
6. Displaying seating plans, clocks, silence notices and any other display materials supplied.
7. Clearly displaying examination name(s), start/finish times and the appropriate centre number in the exam room.
8. Arranging the candidates in accordance with the seating plan provided or seating candidates and preparing a seating plan.
9. Ensuring candidates do not have in their possession any unauthorised material as detailed in the Awarding Body regulations.
10. For paper-based Examinations - Issuing the appropriate examination papers and stationery to candidates.
11. For On-line Examinations – Using the examination software provided by the Awarding Body to activate and close the examination.
About you:
12. Have English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent
13. Have experience of working effectively in a customer focussed environment
14. Have experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
15. Have excellent Customer Service skills
16. Have excellent organisational skills
17. Have a flexible approach to work and working times.
18. Possess the ability to travel to alternative sites
