Make a Difference in Children’s Lives Southend-on-Sea City is seeking two experienced and passionate Fostering Team Managers to join our dedicated Children’s Social Work, Early Help & Youth Support division. This is a permanent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking, child-centred local authority.
About the Role As a Fostering Team Manager, you will lead a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the highest standards of care, support, and oversight for foster carers and the children in their care. This is a key leadership position, requiring a blend of management experience, professional knowledge, and a commitment to making a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide effective leadership and management to the fostering team
Ensure high-quality supervision, assessment, and support for foster carers
Promote safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children and young people
Manage team performance and drive continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
Contribute to strategic planning and service development within fostering services About You: To be successful, you will need:
Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
Substantial experience in fostering services
Proven leadership and team management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
