We are seeking
a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Dr Tanveer Tabish and Professor Keith Channon in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of novel drug delivery approaches for cardiovascular therapeutics. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team at the interface of materials science, cell biology, pharmacology and medicine in collaboration with Dr Craig Lygate (University of Glasgow). This project aims to develop and optimise targeted graphene-based nanomedicines for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. You will be responsible for investigating how novel nanomaterials interact with heart and vascular cells, assessing targeting efficiency, establishing mechanisms of action, as well as studying safety and efficacy in disease models. You will hold (or be near completion of) a PhD or DPhil in a relevant discipline (such as Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Molecular and Cell Biology) and have a good working knowledge of cardiovascular biology.
