Senior Research Associate/Scientist 1 - Fixed-term 12months About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Research Associate or Scientist to join our Protein Sciences team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protein purification, characterization, and analysis. Experience working with challenging biologics and/or with analytical equipment such as a HPLC would be desirable. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, expression, purification, and characterization of recombinant proteins to support our drug discovery and development programs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, cutting-edge research environment and contribute to the advancement of novel therapeutics. In this role you will be responsible for: Supporting all projects through the purification of proteins expressed from bacterial and mammalian cell culture. Characterisation of purified material using standard techniques (UV-vis, SDS-PAGE, HPLC-SEC etc). Contributing to the development of new purification and analytical strategies. Communication of findings to colleagues and peers. Collaboration with other scientists across different teams. About You Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent with >2yrs’ industry experience) in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field. >2yrs’ experience in protein purification, characterization, and analysis is required. Experience with the AKTA automated purification systems and Unicorn software is desirable. Experience with a variety of protein analysis techniques, including gel electrophoresis and chromatography is essential. Knowledge of analytics techniques such as HPLC-SEC would be desirable.
