Title: Chief of Medicine – Interface Division
Tenure: 3 years (renewable)
Hours: 5PA
Remuneration: Consultant Grade
Salary: £107,144 - £142,369 plus a management fee of £18,100 for this role is payable
Relocation package available where appropriate
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest Health Board in Scotland, delivering acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.2 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The Chief of Medicine is operationally accountable to the Interface Director and professionally accountable to the Executive Medical Director. They support Deputy Medical Directors (Acute, Primary Care, Mental Health, and Corporate) in their responsibilities. As a management team member, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the Interface Division, supporting the Director in managing high-quality, safe, efficient, and patient-centered services in line with local and national targets. This role involves maintaining relationships with Health and Social Care partners to develop integrated care pathways.
You will provide professional leadership to medical staff within the Division, promoting continuous quality improvement, clarifying roles and responsibilities, supporting staff development, and implementing systems to monitor and improve clinical performance according to Professional Standards.
You will support the Director and Chief Nurse in developing and delivering the Clinical Governance work plan and service improvement strategies. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Executive Medical Director and senior colleagues across NHSGGC to ensure consistency, equity, and continuity of healthcare services across the Board.
