Principal Medical Writer
Location: London
Contract: Perm or Contract Options available
Therapy Area Focus: Cardiovascular and Diabetes
Company: Independently-owned medical communications organisation.
As a Principal Medical Writer, you will still have hands-on content creation responsibilities and will work across deliverables ranging from advisory boards through to slide decks, manuscripts, websites, and other medical education materials.
In addition, you will have a varied role which will also include responsibility for:
1. Line management: Direct leadership and management for a team of Writers; reviewing all materials produced by the team.
2. Project leadership: Managing and leading all client projects, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest quality and that briefs and timelines are adhered to.
3. Business development: Identifying new business opportunities with both new and existing clients; presenting new business ideas to clients.
4. KOL liaison: Collaborating with KOLs and HCPs as required on material production; signing off all materials for production.
Requirements for the role:
1. At least 5 years of medical writing experience gained from working in a medical communications agency.
2. Line management, mentoring, and coaching experience – of a writing team.
3. Experience of new business development – ideally with experience of pitching to clients too.
4. Knowledge and/or experience of Cardiovascular and Diabetes – this is desirable.
