We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our team here on the Stroke Unit, to work with our staff to support the day to day running of a dynamic ward, liaise with various teams throughout the Trust, facilitate safe discharges from hospital and help communicate with patients, their friends, and family.
The successful applicant will enjoy working in a busy fast-paced environment, will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team to maintain smooth running of the ward service and care. They must have excellent communication skills, a patient-first approach to work, be able to prioritise, organise, be highly motivated; possess a calm approach to the working day and have a good sense of humour. They will also need to be able to keep clear records in line with information governance.
You will be required to work 08:00am till 16:00pm, two days per week. This will be on a three-weekly rotational roster covering the seven days a week service with our current Ward Clerks.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Numeracy and Literacy GCSE or equivalent standard
* Excellent communication skills including telephone language skills
* Organisational skills
* IT literate
* ECAMIS/SYMPHONY experience
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of data protection and confidentiality
* Understanding the importance of equality and diversity rights
Other requirements specific to the role
* Understanding of personal accountability and the need to recognise limitations
