An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a customer focused and highly motivated individual to join the NCA Library and Knowledge Services team.
The postholder will take specific responsibility for knowledge mobilisation, supporting the NCA research agenda, library and knowledge systems and the Northern Care Alliance e-resources.
This is an opportunity to help to run a busy and a forward-thinking NHS library service. The successful candidate will have excellent IM& T skills and extensive experience in working with library systems, electronic resource provision and knowledge management principles. Previous experience in an NHS library environment would be an advantage.
You will have excellent communication skills, thrive working in partnership with a range of people and be able to manage your time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills in:
1. Maintenance and development of library and knowledge systems
2. Implementing knowledge management initiatives
3. Managing a team
4. Carrying out expert evidence searches and synthesis
5. Developing and providing information skills teaching sessions

* Degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship/information science/Knowledge management.

* Knowledge of NHS / Healthcare library information service
Experience

* Experience in maintaining Library Management Systems
* Experience in maintaining databases, repositories or KM systems
* Experience in training users
* At least two years post-qualification experience in a library / information service.
