Penspen www.penspen.com are looking to recruit a Project Engineering Manager based (preferable) from South East of England to manage multi-discipline engineering deliverables.
You must have a technical bias i.e. be a Lead or Senior Pipeline, Process or Mechanical Engineer and experience of being a Project Engineering Manager on a sizable project.
Qualifications:
* Educated to an engineering degree in a relevant discipline and comprehensive post qualification experience, including time spent on construction sites.
* Chartered member of IMechE or other equivalent institution.
Other experience:
* Repurposing of a National High Pressure Gas Distribution Network to convert to blends of Hydrogen and Natural Gas to eventually 100% Hydrogen.
* Repurposing of 8 Gas Fired Power Stations to H2.
* Design of Hydrogen Blending Facilities.
* Design of Hydrogen Production (both Green & Blue H2) Facilities.
* Technology Evaluation studies for Carbon capture, H2 Production, WTE (Waste to Energy).
* Concept and Front End Engineering Design for Hydrogen Hubs (production and distribution).
* Concept and Front End Engineering for large scale H2 Storage utilising salt caverns.
* Concept and Front End Engineering of H2 Import facilities.
* Concept and Front Engineering of CO2 Capture and Transportation systems.
Main Purpose of Role: Direct and manage the activities of multi-disciplinary engineering projects, coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Monitor the quality of engineering and design work performed and ensure that project requirements are met to support the project timeframe. Lead, direct, motivate, coach, and develop discipline engineers to attain their potential thus ensuring effective implementation of company strategic plans. Consult with clients to seek mutual understanding and agreement on the overall execution and major deliverables.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
* Up to 15 years of experience looking to develop into department Manager of Engineering with 3-5 years.
* Wide ranging experience in the oil and gas industry and Energy Transmission focused on the Hydrogen Economy.
* Excellent technical background in the concept, pre-FEED & FEED phases of project development with good experience of Gas Processing, Compression and Pipelines and more recently Hydrogen Production, Carbon Capture.
* Experience in design that minimizes environmental impact.
* Ability to effectively manage and direct lead multi-disciplinary professionals working under pressure to deadlines and be able to prioritize own and others workload, interfacing with other discipline staff as required to accomplish the task/project.
* Sound knowledge of cost analysis and other financial aspects of contract management.
* Ability to identify risks and minimize the company’s exposure to risks on projects.
* Ability to keep track on lessons learned on projects and communicate them to the team.
* Ability to identify areas of improvement in internal processes and recommend solutions.
* High level leadership skills with the ability to lead effectively, and to motivate and influence others to adopt company and department objectives.
* High level strategic planning capability to effectively achieve company, departmental and project goals.
* High level strategic orientation capability of understanding the business beyond a single function by showing clear long term focus and contributes to the overall company objective.
* Strong analytical ability to focus on schedule and commercial goals relating to progress, revenue, cost and profit.
* High level creative, conceptual and inductive reasoning abilities for effective problem solving.
