Randstad Student Support is seeking compassionate Specialist Mentors to work with students in Aberdeen who have specific learning disabilities. As a trusted advisor, you will play a crucial part in empowering students by offering one-to-one guidance that enables them to overcome academic obstacles and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create strategies around organisation and time management
* Break down tasks to meet deadlines
* Achieve an appropriate balance in study and daily living
* Manage anxiety, stress or low mood
* Prepare for new experiences
* Build on confidence and strengths to become an independent learner
As a Specialist Mentor, you will support students on a 1-2-1 basis, ensuring that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will also maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout your role.
Requirements:
* Membership with one of the following professional bodies: BACP, BPS, HCPC, NCPS, NMC, SWE, SCW, UMHAN, or COSCA
* Experience of working with clients with disabilities and/or mental health conditions
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Relevant professional body memberships
* Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths
