An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 specialist nurse within the Tees Specialist Palliative Care team. The post is designed to provide specialist palliative care knowledge and support to patients, carers, and health and social care professionals.
The multi-disciplinary team is forever developing and is committed to providing gold standard care to patients within the community setting.
This is a rare opportunity to join our dynamic team working collaboratively with other professionals to deliver a demanding but rewarding service.
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner whilst working as part of the Tees Specialist Palliative Care Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in partnership with other specialist palliative care providers within the South Tees Locality.
The post holder will work closely with and within the multi-organisational, multi-professional arena with statutory and non-statutory organisations including some cross boundary work within the North of England Strategic Clinical Network (NESCN), the Acute Sector, Social Care, Hospices, Care Homes, and Teesside University.
The Specialist Nurse will provide high quality specialist palliative care (direct and indirect) and advice to patients, carers, and professionals in line with Macmillan’s four Levels of Intervention for the surrounding population.
Clinical leadership and support will be provided by the Clinical Matron, Nurse Consultant, and Cancer Lead.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
1. Explore leadership within the NHS
2. Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
3. Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
4. Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead, and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5, and 7.
