Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Supplier Performance Engineer to join our Supply Chain team where you'll support us in enabling the efficient and effective performance of our suppliers. This role will be based at our Staverton, Gloucestershire site. The Role: You will be working closely with the Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Departments to monitor, evaluate, and improve the performance of our suppliers to enhance the overall supply chain efficiency. As well as this you will be responsible for. Conduct regular Supplier Performance reviews / supplier visits to identify areas of improvement and adherence to contractual obligations. Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement improvement plans to address performance gaps and enhance overall efficiency. Utilise Operational and Technical ability to problem solve and complete RCCA with Suppliers. Participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance. Analyse supplier quality and delivery performance data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement. Generate comprehensive reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and proposing corrective actions as needed. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers, acting as focal point of contact for performance-related matters. Conduct regular supplier meetings to discuss performance metrics, improvement plan progress and address any concerns. Identify potential risks in the supply chain related to supplier performance and develop mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the procurement team to assess and manage risks associated with supplier relationships. The role will require applying established capability working with complex Hydraulic and Mechanical aerospace components, systems and manufacturing processes. HNC or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Significant experience of working within a manufacturing environment Some experience of using advanced quality and continuous improvement, problem solving tools (e.g. PFMEA, 6-sigma) 5 years experience of working within a Technical/Quality/Supplier performance role within an aerospace environment Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings / specification to facilitate problem resolution Excellent organisational and communication skills Commercially minded with an ability to deliver “outside of the box” solutions to commercial problems. Positive can-do attitude Capability to work independently and as part of a team cross functionally and within the function demonstrating respect and understanding.
