The Teaching Assistant Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with young students with a diagnosis of autism and some with more complex needs. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy, and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would be happy to hear from you!

The School
Based in Orpington, this fantastic school is friendly and well-respected in the local community with students across the school ages 4-19 across four different sites in Orpington. Pupils from Orpington and across surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties. Support and training are offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as an SEN teaching assistant for children with varied needs. You will be working with skilled SEN Teachers and Teaching Assistants in a classroom environment.
The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
1. Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
2. Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
3. Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
4. Support with planning, preparation, and resourcing for lessons
5. Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
6. Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
7. Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
