Job summary
The Clinical Senior Lecturer will contribute to the intellectual life of the Institute and wider institution and research field of Restorative dentist. As part of the CIC, they will be part of the wider dental team providing clinical and managerial leadership to dentists, dental therapists/hygienists, including training and development and supervision. They will make contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject area of Restorative Dentistry. As part of the senior leadership team they are responsible for working with the Institute of Denitstry and the CEO, Clinical Director and Operations Manager to provide strategic support for education and quality assurance of placements.
Main duties of the job
Organise, design and deliver teaching and assessment as required by the Institute, Faculty and QMUL; this will include delivering lectures, classes and seminars in core and specialist subjects with due regard to best practice and the overall teaching strategy in the Institute;
Act as a Personal Tutor providing effective support to students, including referring to specialist services as appropriate and proactively identifying engagement issues at an early stage.
Actively contribute to curriculum development and the review of courses in accordance with the teaching and learning strategy of the Institute, Faculty and QMUL.
Engage in the wider QMUL agenda ( Equality & Diversity; Sustainability; Internationalisation; Widening Participation; Interdisciplinarity and Staff Development) in line with QMUL strategies and policies.
The post-holder is required to have and maintain full registration with the /General Dental Council. Medical Staff are advised to continue membership of one of the medical defence organisations.
Clinical duties will include:
General dental and restrative outpatient clinics.
Participatin in audit, quality improvement and service development activity as an active and engaged member f the clinical team, taking a leadership role where required.

Essential
1. The post-holder is required to have and maintain full registration with the /General Dental Council. Medical Staff are advised to continue membership of one of the medical defence organisations.
