Quality Manager - West Bromwich - Chemicals sector
Our client is looking for a talented Quality Manager to head up their team at their site in West Bromwich.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager who can lead the QC function and has experience in the chemicals sector. If you have substantial experience in the manufacturing sector and feel this might be a good fit for you, then please get in touch; they would be happy to hear from you!
Nature & Scope
* Leadership of the Quality function
* Overall management of the QC function and testing laboratory/systems.
* Maintain and develop the Quality Management Systems (including GMP where applicable)
* Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS as part of an integrated management system to deliver Q, E, H&S regulatory and operational compliance
* Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the system via an internal audit system
* Monitor overall corporate quality performance against corporate targets and alignment with customer expectations
* Provide leadership in GMP systems development, operation, and integration into the ISO 9001 QMS
* Responsible for the release of raw materials, intermediates, and final products
* Develop and implement departmental training
* Provide technical support on analytical and quality issues
* Provide leadership for quality activities
* Responsible for approval of deviation investigations, change controls, validation activities, and analytical out of specifications investigations
* Customer communication on quality matters
* Process direction authorization for QC/QA requirements
* Release manufacturing equipment for use in production
* Must observe and maintain relevant Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and GMP (where applicable) procedures and standards at all times.
* Work closely with other team members to ensure that agreed Quality Department programs are completed on time while meeting GMP (where applicable), quality, and health & safety standards.
* Contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Major Accountabilities
* Provision of resources to provide an effective analytical and QA service to the company
* Material release
* Equipment release to production
* Final arbiter of material quality
* Calibration schedules in QC Laboratories are complied with
* Departmental budget control
* Personnel training and development
* Determination of salary levels of subordinates
* Recruitment, selection, and dismissal
* Maintain QC Laboratories in a clean, orderly, and safe state
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas that are visited and operated in.
