Works Manager Required - Cardiff. As the works manager you will be part of our district heating internal Delivery team who are responsible for the installation of district heating networks nationwide. You will report to senior civils manager. Duties & Responsibilities will include: Deliver morning briefings. Create works packs. Create sub programmes to main programme. Lead by example and embed a safety culture whilst promoting Hazard and Near Miss reporting. Ensure all works are carried out in a safe manner and that supervisors and teams comply with the relevant legislation and regulations whilst working. Deliver financial, productivity and performance standards report. Ensure all Team Leaders manage works so that they are completed in line with NRSWA and Section 74 requirements (good housekeeping, signing, lighting, and guarding) so that potential fines are avoided. Ensure works are carried out to the requirements of the customer and that excellent customer service is always promoted. Conduct pre-start site checks and work pack checks as appropriate and in discussion with relevant personnel before commencing works. Good IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ensure all allocated works are effectively managed so that delivery meets client, customer, and company requirements. You will be required to cover multiple sites withing your region.Accreditations required: Nrswa supervisor. Eusr temp works installation. or proven good knowledge of install and removal. Smsts. First aid at work.Knowledge required: Previous experience operating in deep excavation works. Appreciation and understanding of Health and Safety legislation. Proven experience of managing teams and staff in a contracting environment. Ability to work to tight time scales and prioritise work efficiently. Knowledge of work activities associated with deep excavation techniques. Awareness and understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory policies and guidelines - particularly SHEQ. Proven stakeholder and customer management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills. Full UK Driving Licence. Good IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
