Purpose of Role An opportunity exists for an experienced engineer within the Press Fleet Operations team to perform Press and Marketing activities. This individual is required to take responsibility for preparing vehicles for events and supporting different events all over the world Principal Accountabilities To take responsibility for preparing, monitoring, analysing, and reporting of activities related to the build quality and performance of the McLaren Automotive Press cars. To sign off the performance and overall quality of vehicles ahead of press activities. To work closely with Engineering/Technician Teams to ensure that vehicles are prepared to the required standard. Enthusiastic approach to help diagnose and RCA vehicle concerns. To represent the Press Fleet Operations Team at technical meetings as required. Provide comprehensive reports back to the business. Knowledge, Skills and Experience A degree in Automotive, Mechanical or Motorsport Engineering is preferred. Significant experience in automotive performance vehicles, McLaren specific is preferred. Able to apply detailed technical knowledge to the understanding of new technologies, development of engineering designs and resolution of engineering problems. Experience of programme leadership and reporting would be an advantage. Must be proficient with all common Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written. Able to travel worldwide with reasonable notice and occasionally short notice. Personal Attributes Should be well-organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail. Able to work well alongside a team of Engineers / Technicians, providing leadership and guidance where needed. Must demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, initiative and flexibility, and determination to see a task through to completion. Flexible approach to working hours. Calm under pressure.
