An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Assistant Practitioner to work full time with the Musculoskeletal Outpatient team at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital. The post holder will assist in the rehabilitation of patients both individually and within groups assisting in the delivering of treatment for the Musculoskeletal team as well as the Hand Therapy Service, Rheumatology team, and Paediatric Team.
The team works holistically and generically and consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists & support staff.
Part time applicants are welcome and would be considered for the role depending on experience, success at interview and the service needs.
As a Band 4 you will work generically, providing high quality care through effective team work and treatment. The team strives to provide high quality care and think innovatively to improve the service we deliver.
The post holder will be expected to carry out initial assessments of total knee patients and progress treatment plans. The post holder will be able to run gym classes if required with the support of the B3.
The post holder will be expected to help with the running of the MSK, hand and paediatric team ordering equipment, supervising a B3 and helping to ensure the smooth running of the department.
As a therapy team we are constantly involved in service development and the post holder will be involved alongside the therapy team in new projects, service developments and initiatives to ensure best practice at all times.
Regular supervision is available. There is regular in-service training provided by both therapies and other MDT members. There is an opportunity to enroll on the apprenticeship scheme to develop your clinical skills further. External training opportunities may also be applied for as appropriate.
