About the role
Our Boots Opticians Finance team are looking for a Finance Manager - Financial Accounting & Reporting to join our Financial Control team. You will support the Financial Controller in ensuring the Opticians business has an effective financial management and control process, a robust month end process and has a credible platform to facilitate decision-making.
This is a multi-faceted role which allows you to use and develop your technical accounting knowledge, and review existing processes with a view of continuous improvement. You will:
1. Coordinate and manage the department through the month end financial close process ensuring group reporting is timely and accurate
2. Review and oversight of balance sheet reconciliations
3. Ensure entity compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including audit and statutory accounts, and working closely with WBA Group functions to achieve this
4. Support the Group Tax function by gathering information for Corporation Tax & PSA
5. Maintenance and improvement of financial controls across various finance processes
6. Continuous improvement of existing accounting processes
7. Manage adhoc group requirements and acting as financial accounting advisor for business projects
8. Work closely with the Genpact R2R team to ensure all tasks are accurately completed on time
9. Support with project work relating to the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA.
10. Ad hoc projects as required
