Job summary The Perinatal Mental Health Community Service (PMHCS) covers the whole of Kent and Medway. PMHCS specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and short-term treatment of women aged 18 and above who are affected by a moderate to severe mental health illness in the preconception, antenatal and postnatal period. You will be an active member of the Perinatal Mental Health Community Service, providing specialist clinical interventions and support to a defined caseload of women and their infants who experience perinatal mental illness. The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). Main duties of the job Work alongside the existing PMHCS team delivering a service to Mothers and Infants within the Kent & Medway area. Maintain a clinical caseload within agreed limits. Providing a range of specialist clinical interventions to clients with perinatal mental illness. Provide specialist liaison advice and support on the developments of nursing practice within the PMHCS to professionals within primary and secondary care. Participate in the delivery of specialist perinatal mental health training and supervision to other professionals within primary and secondary care when needed. Develop links with local mental health services to improve the interface between primary and secondary care for this client group.
