The Direct Sales - New Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within the B2B energy market. The role will have high importance on building and maintaining strong client relationships and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prospect Development: Proactively identify and engage with organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. Leverage a range of outreach methods, including networking events, industry conferences, and digital platforms, to connect with potential clients and customers.
2. Use of AI Tools: Where applicable, utilize AI technologies such as Co-pilot to enhance prospecting activities. This includes analyzing market data, identifying potential leads, and gaining insights into the sustainability initiatives of target companies.
3. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients. Proactively seek opportunities to establish connections with prospective customers to support business growth.
4. Sales Strategy: Review and implement effective, proven sales strategies to achieve energy supply targets and expand the organization's client base.
5. Proposal Development: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the needs of prospective clients and customers.
6. Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations and secure agreements that maximize profitability while meeting client needs.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with the wider sales team to support lead generation efforts, and coordinate with operational teams to ensure client satisfaction. Represent the organization at relevant events and conferences as required by the role.
8. Reporting: Provide timely and accurate reports on sales activities, pipeline development, and forecasts to senior management.
9. Knowledge of the UK Energy Market: With special reference to Retail.
10. Knowledge of Sales Techniques: And optimization.
11. Planning and Development: Against objectives.
12. Staff Management: And motivational skills.
13. Presentation and Report-Writing Skills:
14. Analytical Skills: Using Microsoft Office tools.
