Role overview:
* Work with young people during the initial stages of expression of interest to Tai Ffres, interview and assess support and risk needs, in accordance with the Tai Ffres allocations policy and procedures and to keep all parties informed of progress and outcomes.
* Work in partnership with other members of the Tai Ffres team to provide innovative solutions that empower young people to develop a success plan for sustaining and maintain their home, bringing positive solutions to address issues of concern in relation to rent &service charge payment / arrears; complaints & ASB; occupation contract management issues.
* Use a coaching model to build trusting and respectful relationships with young people which focus on their strengths, encouraging young people to build on their strengths so they can achieve successful outcomes for themselves, with flexible access to your support.
* “Check in and check out” with young people on issues of financial inclusion, occupation contract management, Education, Employment and Training (EET) opportunities and mental and physical wellbeing.
* Act as an introducer and referrer for young people to internal and external specialised support services where appropriate
* Develop positive relationships within local communities, to assist young people with community integration, accessing appropriate local services and amenities to increase positive community networks, connections and reduce social isolation.
* Encourage participation with Tai Ffres, United Welsh and Llamau events and programmes.
* Use mental health first aid and rudimentary counselling to respond to young people when they experience a crisis.
* Respond promptly and appropriately to safeguarding issues in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of young people and the business, which may be outside of normal office hours.

* The ability to engage and build strong relationships with people
* A non-judgemental mindset and an understanding of the impacts of homelessness, substance misuse, family breakdown, domestic abuse, and trauma
* A forward-thinking and resilient attitude, to overcome the barriers and setbacks you will face
* A strong character who can remain calm and collected in challenging situations
* Experience in support work or housing, with an understanding of housing options, housing law and basic benefits
* A full UK driving license and access to a car
