We are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to work within the Corporate and Technical Finance Team, supporting the management of the Leicestershire Pension Fund. About the Role As an Assistant Accountant, you will be an important member of the Corporate and Technical Finance Team, working closely with the Technical Accountant – Pensions and Treasury Management to manage the day-to-day activities of the Pension Fund. Responsibilities in this role include: Managing payments to and from investment managers. Monitoring asset valuations and ensuring detailed record keeping. Reconciling investment balances and movements in-year. Liaising with external partners to request and provide information. Supporting the Technical Accountant in producing the year-end accounts. Supporting the Technical Accountant in managing the external audit. About You To apply for this post, you must: Demonstrate knowledge and experience of budgeting, management accounts, and general accounting. Interpret and use financial information to inform decision and manage risks. Champion continuous improvement. Manage your time effectively to ensure that tasks are completed within set deadlines, being flexible as required and work effectively individually and as part of a team. Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally and develop good and appropriate relationships with all stakeholders. Take steps to gain understanding of customer needs and expectations. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Software. You must also hold an NVQ level 4, or equivalent, qualification in a relevant area. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
