Learning Behaviour Mentor
Salary - £23K - £26K per annum
Type - Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Behaviour Mentor to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour based in East Ham, London E6.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities.
2. Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.
3. Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
4. Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary.
5. Participating in training and development opportunities to further enhance your knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
2. Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
4. A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
5. A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field is desirable.
