Friday & Saturday | 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
SUMMARY:
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing batched food items used in all areas of operation, including preparation of raw ingredients (washing, slicing and dicing) as well as putting ingredients together to make soups, stocks, sauces and batch recipes. The Prep Cook is also responsible for the preparation and storage of all foods and dry goods, maintaining cleanliness of work area and tools, and ensuring the proper functioning of the prep kitchen and dish area, including coordinating and directing dish staff.
SCHEDULE:
* 5 shifts per week (can be flexible to accommodate availability)
* One weekend shift per week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintains proper food handling and safety procedures for all products used
* Learn and be familiar with recipes and par levels
* Determine preparation needs and write lists, prioritizing time and most critical needs
* Know product handling guidelines including proper sanitation, storage, temperature and rotation of all food items
* Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and proper storage standards for glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. using machine and manual cleaning methods
* Properly produce all food items according to current recipes and specifications (including use of all equipment)
* Maintain organization of prep area, dry storage and walk in areas
* Perform opening/closing and on shift side work and maintenance properly
* Verify, sign in and check quality of all deliveries
* Keeps kitchen clean and organized
* Maintain cleanliness of all appliances
* Responsible for safe defrosting method for food needed the following day
* Maintain a safe and clean working area including sweeping, mopping, and dish support if needed
* Direct and maintain dishwashing staff and area

* Reading comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in related documents. Must be able to read recipes, instructions and chemical labels

* Must obtain State mandated food safety certification
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base starting hourly wage for this position is $17.00/hour!
