The Operational Senior HR Manager will be a key member of a small team, responsible for providing operational HR services across the company. The role involves ensuring compliance with HR legislation and case law, implementing policies and initiatives that drive high staff engagement and development.
The Operational Senior HR Manager position requires regular interaction with line managers and department heads to support performance, staffing needs and employee relations. This is a regional role which will involve regular travel to sites.
The Role
* Proactively support line managers with performance management of their team members, including development of robust performance improvement plans.
* Provide day-to-day HR support and advice to managers and employees on various HR matters such as equal opportunities, diversity, resourcing, recruitment, employee benefits, employee relations, absence management and disciplinary and grievance.
* Ensure compliance with HR policies across the business.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote compliance and best practice.
* Partner with Heads of Departments to confirm staffing needs across the business.
* Build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels to support HR initiatives and improvements.
* Produce accurate reports and analyse people analytics, identifying trends to enable the business to make data-led decisions.
* Help deliver an accurate and timely submission of all payroll related information.
* Implement and contribute to continual improvement and innovation ensuring the business is recognised for developing and delivering excellent people practices.
The Person:
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience as an Operational HR Manager/Business Partner in a multi-discipline organisation.
* Effective application of employment policies and procedures.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence and negotiate at all levels.
* Credible and comfortable in dealing with diverse stakeholders.
* Be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable.
* The ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Be a self-starter with experience of developing policies and procedures.
* Excellent understanding of employment law to manage change in the ER agenda creatively.
* Experience of managing projects to successful conclusion.
* Highly computer literate.
* Have a current driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
* MCIPD/post graduate human resources qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience in an Engineering/Construction environment.
