Strong understanding of legislation, practice, courts, possession orders, and evictions. Significant experience in providing specialist homelessness casework to applicants with complex needs. Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Detailed knowledge and experience in safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. Proven ability to achieve performance objectives and deliver high-quality risk management plans. Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders including applicants, partners, and legal teams. High level of education or equivalent demonstrable experience with evidence of continuous professional development. What the Job Involves Provide excellent customer service to homeless applicants and key partners. Deliver specialist homelessness casework in accordance with relevant legislation, strategies, and policies. Utilize homelessness prevention tools and collaborate with internal and external partners to improve outcomes. Embed safeguarding best practices across the Housing Advisory Service. Contribute to reducing the number of households living in temporary accommodation. Develop the Homeless Families & Singles Team and the wider Housing Advisory Service. Undertake comprehensive assessments and create co-produced Personal Housing Plans for applicants. Coordinate provision of services and support in line with PHP, liaising with various stakeholders. Attend multi-agency meetings such as discharge planning meetings and MAPPA meetings. Work closely with council solicitors and present cases in court regarding housing decisions.
