The Role
We’re looking for an Asset Maintenance Lead to take ownership of dividend and corporate action processing, asset onboarding, and ongoing asset maintenance within our platform.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of asset-related processes, working closely with internal teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational resilience.
Sitting between day-to-day operations and strategic process improvement, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys both hands-on problem-solving and optimising processes to ensure our asset data remains reliable and up to date.
If you have a strong background in asset servicing, dividend & corporate action processing, a thorough understanding of financial instruments, and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape the function.
As a rapidly growing business, there is a substantial opportunity for you to own, redesign, and implement innovative processes to ensure we deliver an efficient and first-class service.
On a typical day, you will…
* Own the end-to-end asset maintenance process, ensuring the accurate setup, management, and review of financial instruments across the platform.
* Ensure timely and accurate recording and payment of dividend events from aggregated payment to individual client-level records.
* Lead corporate actions processing, ensuring timely execution and clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Oversee asset onboarding, ensuring new assets are reviewed, approved, and set up in line with regulatory and operational requirements.
* Act as a subject matter expert, supporting internal teams with complex queries related to corporate actions, asset data, and maintenance.
* Identify inefficiencies in asset-related workflows and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
* Work closely with risk and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and mitigate operational risks.
* Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to enhance systems and tooling for asset maintenance and corporate actions.
* Track key performance metrics (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and drive data-led decision-making.
* Provide training and guidance to internal teams, ensuring best practices in asset maintenance and corporate actions handling.
This role's for you if you have…
* Significant experience in asset maintenance, dividend & corporate action processing, and securities operations within financial services.
* A strong understanding of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, funds, and derivatives.
* Knowledge of corporate actions processing, including dividends, mergers, stock splits, and other events.
* Experience working with asset onboarding, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial product setup.
* A process-driven mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to triage and resolve complex asset-related issues.
* A keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams.
* Experience working with technology and data systems related to asset maintenance and corporate actions, including the CREST GUI.
This role isn’t for you if...
* You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression.
* You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet.
* You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen.
* You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty.
What’s in it for you…
We offer a generous mix of benefits for the things that really matter to our people, including:
* A salary between £50,000 and £70,000 – dependant on experience + reviewed annually.
* 27 days holiday + bank holidays (some can be flexible) + day off on your birthday + three days (full time) per year for Dependant leave.
* Two volunteering days per year.
* Length of service award – one month paid sabbatical at eight years.
* 6% employer pension contribution, and life assurance.
* Private medical insurance with AXA Health.
* Enhanced Parental leave.
* MacBook and up to £500 home office set up budget.
* £750 per person learning budget.
* Option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year.
* Health and wellbeing initiatives including free therapy via Wellness Cloud, mental health support via Headspace.
* Strong financial wellbeing focus including access to Octopus Money, Octopus Share Incentive Plan, will writing offering via Octopus Legacy and Seccl invest (our own platform for you to manage your investments).
