Are you an experienced senior quantity surveyor with a passion for delivering high-quality residential developments?
Bromford is looking for a skilled professional to lead the commercial and surveying functions across multiple complex projects, driving profitability through effective cost planning, contractor procurement, and financial management.
As a key senior member of our commercial team, you'll oversee viability assessments, manage subcontractor relationships, and ensure the financial performance of each scheme is aligned with our broader program goals. You will also play a critical role in mentoring and supporting our team, particularly our graduates and trainees, to develop future talent within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead commercial management and surveying for multiple developments, ensuring cost control and profitability.
* Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and escalation support as needed.
* Conduct accurate viability, feasibility, and build assessments.
* Manage subcontractor sourcing, ensuring quality work delivered on time and within budget.
* Oversee contract documents, specifications, and drawings to compile robust tender packages.
* Ensure effective use and management of the COINS system for costing and budget preparation.
* Drive continuous improvement, seeking feedback and implementing best practices across projects.
* Mentor and develop junior team members, focusing on graduates and trainees.
The role is permanent and full time. You can be based from either of our main offices in Tewkesbury or Chipping Sodbury. The role will require regular travel to our sites across Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and Bristol so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. You will also need to be able to complete a basic DBS and consumer check.
You will have:
* Extensive commercial quantity surveying experience, with demonstrable experience in a commercial house builder
* A degree in construction or quantity surveying.
* In-depth knowledge of new build residential development and building techniques
* Proficiency with COINS software and MS Office packages
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
* Experience with JCT contracts.
